Job Title: MIG Welder (Contract)
Location: Leicester
Contract Duration: November – End of February
We are currently seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join a well-established and organised fabrication company in Leicester. This is a contract position running through to the end of February, working within a clean, supportive, and productive workshop environment.
About the Role:
You will be working on a range of architectural and structural mild steel projects, welding material thicknesses from 3mm up to 20mm. The company operates to a high standard of planning and structure, offering a positive and professional atmosphere for skilled tradespeople.
Key Responsibilities:
MIG welding of mild steel components (3mm–20mm).
Working from engineering drawings accurately and efficiently.
Producing high-quality welds to meet company and client specifications.
Maintaining a tidy and safe workspace in line with health and safety requirements.
Contributing effectively to team goals while also working independently.
Meeting production targets and maintaining consistent output.
Requirements:
Time-served experience or relevant qualifications.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings confidently.
Coded is beneficial but not essential.
Good work ethic with a reliable and positive attitude.
Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 17:30
Friday: 07:00 – 09:30 (early finish)
Additional hours available for those wishing to work overtime.
Overtime Rates:
Over 42 to 47 hours: Time and a quarter
Over 47 hours: Time and a half
Sundays: Double time
Pay: £16+ per hour (depending on experience).
